Sept. 8th Update

9th Annual Wrightwood Arts Studio Tour
Saturday, September 25th, from 10-5pm come and help support and discover local artists by attending "The 9th Annual Wrightwood Arts Studio and Silent Auction." This self guided tour will feature a wide range of fine art, ranging from contemporary to modern. Tickets are on sale now for only $5 dollars and the precedes go to benefit local community organizations and the Serrano High School Art Scholarship.

Self guided tour will feature a wide range of fine art from contemporary to modern with media including oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor painting; metal, glass, bronze sculpture; photography collage, jewlery, gourds, pottery, and silk and china painting

Tickets are $5 and are available in Wrightwood at Cinnamon's Bakery, Mt.Hardware, Village Grind, SK Jones Galleries and Applewood Court. The ticket is a guidebook with info about each exhibiting artist and a map to the exhibit location.

Silent Auction will be held the same Saturday from 10-3pm, in Wrightwood Museum, located at 600 Cedar.

Photography Fundamental
Are any of you wanting to learn some photography tricks and tips? Or maybe even improving your skills on photography? Come check out the Photography Fundamental event located at the town hall recreation center in Apple Valley. This event will be held on Sept. 24th from 5:30 to 7:30pm, The town hall is located on 14955 Dale Evans Park way. You must be 10 or older to enter, entry fee is $27.

Artists of the High Desert

Sept.6 Announcements

Hesperia Days
Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18 from 8-7:30pm is Hesperia Days; located at Hesperia Lake Park. It'll be featuring vendor booths, kids zone, and other great fun for the entire family. Hesperia is also hosting the American Music Festival both days at the Val Shearer Equestrian Canter at 8am. Then Saturday at 9am is the Kiwanes Hesperia Days Parade which will be starting at Main & Timberlane and ending at Main & "E"

Swing the Town

Head on over to the James Woody Community Center Auditorium in Apple
Valley, because on the second Wednesday of every month from 8-11pm,
you can celebrate the timeless music of the 30's and 40's. Swing the
Town is a fun event for all ages to dance their heart out! It is only
$3 per person to be a part of this great event.

Concerts in the Courtyard
Come and join us every Thursday in September for the Concerts in the Courtyard series from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Apple Valley Commons This is a perfect opportunity to connect with friends, family, and neighbors for great music featuring rock, jazz, R&B and swing

State of the Arts Update 7-15-10

National Dance Day

Come out to National Dance Day and help support the national movement spearheaded by the hit TV show “So You Think You Can Dance”, Encore’s cheerleader squad is going to start off the morning with a pancake breakfast fundraiser at Applebee’s from 8-10 a.m. Then at 10 a.m. everyone is going to meet at Encore to learn the moves of Tabitha and Napoleon so we can tape the largest group possible doing their moves in hopes of getting the High Desert region mentioned on “So You Think You Can Dance”. Bring everyone you know, and come out to have a good time representing the High Desert.

National Korean Veterans Armistice Day


A ceremony in honor of the men and women who gallantly served during the Korean War. There will be a presentation of colors, a wreath laying, a variety of patriotic songs performed by Encore High School's Dean's List, and a host of other tributes. All military, veteran's organizations, family members of deceased veterans, comrades, and the general public are invited.

Art's and Wonder Concert Night
A night dedicated to arts and family fun, Arts and Wonder will be having a variety of booths and vendors, a magnificent performance by Southern Spirit, and guest performances by Encore's Dean's List. It will be a night of dancing, laughs, and a way to have fun with the family while enjoying the arts. It is a completely free event.
